Dear Carole and Neil,
.....I find my self daydreaming all the time about my favorite moments….; Seeing the beautiful shrines to the Madonna along the roadside,  Being woken up by the church bells, The patchwork of the soft muted grey green of the olive trees and the brighter green lines of the grape vines, running my hand along the stone walls, going to sleep with my soul full of all the art I had seen that day and my stomach full of wonderful Umbrian food,, standing before a Perugino fresco in wonderment,  and not having to explain to the Italians why it moved me to tears, walking through thresholds as people had done before me for hundreds of years … a shared moment linking humanity through the ages, the elation of leaving the opera in Spoleto ….an enchanted evening, the amazing door handles, feeling inspired to learn more about this well trodden land and its generous people. I would like thank you with all my heart.          Cate Ashford.        New Zealand
